Josephine P. Hosford, 64, of Portland, died on Wednesday.  She was born in 
Eagle, on August 12, 1928, the daughter of Paul and Reha Dutcher Wells.  She 
worked for Michigan Bell Telephone.

She is survived by her husband, Hershel; a stepdaughter, Nora Lee Hosford of 
Broda; two stepsons, Hershel W. Hosford of Bridgeman and Richard M. Hosford of 
New Troy; eight step-grandchildren; five brothers; Ronald of Lake Odessa, 
Norman of Woodbury, Stephen of Grandville, and Gerald and Richard of Portland; 
three sisters; Pauline Powell of Pendleton, Oregon, Alice Shattuck of Ionia, 
and Doris Maag of Mulliken.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Neller Chapel of Portland, 
with the Rev. James W. Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in the North Eagle 
Cemetery.  Casket bearers will be Oren and Daniel Shattuck, Francis Maag Jr., 
Jeffrey Maag, Ronald Wells Jr., and Michael Wells.  The family will be at the 
funeral chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
