She had been critically ill for a month. She was born in Randow, Germany, August 7, 1847, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tafel. In the year 1877 she was married to John Hoth. They came to the United States and settled in Ionia October 18, 1880. Mrs. Hoth had lived 57 years in her home and lived 35 years alone since the death of her husband in 1903. She was an member of the St. John's Episcopal church. Funeral services will be conducted from the church by the Rev. R. A. Rook, pastor, Tuesday afternoon, October 4, at 2:30 o'clock following prayer services at the home at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery. The casket will not be opened at the church but will lie in state at the home prior to the funeral services. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Smith of Ionia and Mrs. Bertha Blanck of Lansing and 26 nieces and nephews.
