Houck, 67, of Belding, died Monday shortly after 11 o’clock in the United Memorial hospital, Greenville. He suffered a severe heart attack earlier in the morning. As a native of Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Louis and Mattie Houck, he was born June 6, 1880. He came to Belding in 1920 from Eaton Rapids. He was employed by the T. Frank Ireland company and Haight’s Hardware before opening a plumbing shop of his own. He was a member of the Belding chamber of Commerce; Belding lodge F. & A.M.; Royal Arch chapter, of which he was a past high priest. The former organization will have charge of the interment services at River Ridge cemetery Thursday afternoon following the funeral from the Fales-Huffman funeral chapel at 2 o’clock. Rev. H.S. Ellis will officiate. Surviving is his wife, the former Nell McSorley to whom he was married May 3, 1924, in Belding; two sons Harley O. of Jackson and Ronald E. of Eaton Rapids; and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Lyons of Emmitsburg, Maryland.
