Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2003

Bessie C. (Scott) Hough, 74, of Saranac, passed away due to accidental injuries 
January 29, 2003 in Grand Rapids.  She was born April 16, 1928 in Lancaster, PA 
the daughter of J. Clyde and Bessie (Taylor) Rintz.

She married Clifford Scott September 14, 1946 in Saranac, who preceded her in 
death February 2, 1995.  She went on to marry Devine Hough September 11, 1997 
who passed away January 27, 2003.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Connie) Scott, of Lowell; daughters, 
Patricia (Ray) Carigon, of Saranac, and Cathleen Scott of Florida; many 
grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one 
daughter, Barbara; two brothers and two sisters.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, 
February 1, 2003 at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac with Rev. John Madvig 
officiating.  Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution in Bessie’s 
memory to Saranac Fire Department First Responders, Commission of Aging, or VFW 
Sheridan.
