Mrs. Hough had not been sick, but still she had been ailling for some time, although her condtion was not serious at any time. On Wednesday morning she arose in her usual health, but in the early forenoon complained of a severe headache, and Mr. Hough called for a physician from Woodbury who was not at home at the time, but sent word that he would be there in a shot time. Mr. Hough and his oldest daughter proceeded to do up the morning's housework, while Mrs. Hough laid down on the couch. At about eleven o'clock they heard an unusual noise in the room in which Mrs. Hough was laying and went in to investigate, finding the unfortunate mother unable to speak, and in a dying condition. She soon passed away before others could get on the scene. The doctor arrived from Woodbury about noon but after examiniation he stated that he would have been unable to render any assistance had he been present. The funeral will be held from the Woodbury U. B. church this forenoon, the people meeting at the home of the Houghs' at ten o'clock and going from there to the church. Rev. Bostwick of Salem, formerly of Woodbury, will preach the sermon and the lady's remains laid at rest in Lakeside cemetery. Mrs. Hough was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Sweitzer, formerly residents of Sebewa, but now deceased. She was born February 21st 1867 and was married to Mr. Hough in September, 1885. To this union has been born three daughters, aged 17, 16 and 7 years. An exceptional bright trio of young ladies that will be a great comfort and help to a sorrowing father. Mr. and Mrs. Hough have been residents of Odessa township ever since their marriage, with the exception of eighteen months spent in Mecosta county about seven years ago, after which they returned and went back onto the Hough farm, where they have since lived and prospered. Mrs. Hough was a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge of Woodbury. She was blessed wtih a great many friends and relatives, all of whom loved her well, and have the deepest sympathy for the sorrowing man and children.
