ERNEST HOUGH BURNED TO DEATH FRI. Mrs. Mary Hough, 58, wife of Ernest Hough residing a mile south of Sunfield, was burned to death at about 7 o'clock Friday morning when fire of undetermined origin destroyed the barn on the farm. Mr. Hough, who has been in poor health, told officers he was in the house when he glanced out and saw the barn in flames. Fire departments from Sunfield and Lake Odessa saved other buildings. A silo, a shed, a Sunfield school bus and the family car were also destroyed by the flames. Mrs. Hough is survived by her husband, two sons, Roy and Murray, and a daughter Mrs. Francis Stucker in Sunfield, two grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Reiser and Mrs. A. I. Laughlin in Lake Odessa, and Mrs. Riley Goodenough of Lyons, and a brother George Becker here. The funeral was held at the United Brethren church in Sunfield, Monday, with the Revs. A Hoffman, F. Harwood and Nagel officiating. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
