Nov. 12 2016 R. MURRAY HOUGH Surrounded by family and in his home, Murray Hough, age 92, left his body to the earth on November 7, 2016. Born August 7, 1924 in Sunfield, he is the youngest of three children born to Ernest L. and Mary Hough. Married on May 14, 1944 to Violet (Pastorick) Hough, they had three children, David (Nancy Broadbent) Hough, Kathleen (Kenneth) Black, and Carolyn (Torre) Miller. Hough was a tremendously successful businessman who travelled the world. He could as easily negotiate a contract with high level government officials as sit at a table and talk about concrete forms with his project manage. Murray was president of Hough Brothers, Inc. from 1951 to 1983, and executive vice-president of Hough International from 1983 to 1997. He was special projects director for Southern Global, Inc. and president of RMH management form 1997 until his passing. He was the holder of numerous patents. The most recent being granted to him at the age of 91. Above all else, Murray was husband and father first. He had the wonderful ability to leave work behind and devote himself, and his time, entirely to his family. Described by all as genuinely kind and a great influence, he was often found at the controls of his Piper Twin Comanche-7693Y, restoring old tractors with his brother, or "thinking of something" new. Always an adventurer, Murray and close friend Raymond Wilcox travelled all the way to California with an Indian motorcycle. They managed to crash it, sell it, and take a bus back home to Michigan! They were 18 years old, and the year was 1942! He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Roy; sister Francis, and great- granddaughter McKenna. He is survived by his wife, VI; children; grandchildren, Alex Hough, Whitney Hough (Parker) McCrary, Kalvin (Kalyn) Hough-Black, Katrine (Brian) Hoyt, Kelsey Black, and Alexis Miller; great-grandchildren are Gates and Archer McCrary, Aubrie, William, and Olivia Hoyt, and Payton Hough-Black. There are also numerous nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to Sunnycrest Youth Ranch for a project in Murray's honor. Arrangements by Rosier funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, Sunfield.
