Leaves Widow, Son, Mother and One Brother. Funeral Thursday. Monday while Forrest Houghton was operating a portable saw mill on the Frank Short farm southwest of this village he was so badly injured that he died three hours later in the local hospital. He was sawing out a 2x4 from a log when the log was caught in the saw in such a way that he was thrown against a pile of logs crushing his chest and breaking his collar bone, at the same time a piece of the board penetrated his lung. He was brought to the hospital here where he died about six o’clock Monday afternoon, three hours after the accident. Mr. Houghton leaves a widow, Ethel, a son Allen, his mother Mrs. Ora Houghton of Woodland, and a brother Roy, a missionary for the United Brethren church in Sierra Leone, Africa. The funeral will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Tamarac church. The pastor Rev. E. M. Wheeler will officiate.
