Sentinel-Std. - Monday, July 11, 1960

Funeral service was held at the Myers funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m., for 
Charles Houghton, 68, who died Wednesday evening. Rev. Donald T. Meikle, pastor 
of LeValley Methodist church officiated and interment was at Balcom cemetery.

Bearers were Harold Harwood, Harold Hannah, Harvey Seiler, Joseph Schanski, Lee 
Coulson and Hugh Coulson.

Relatives attending were Russell Houghton of Lake City, Earl Houghton and Mrs. 
Cora Collier of Blanchard; Richard Houghton, Mrs. Ethel Houghton, and Rev. and 
Mrs. Roy Houghton of Alma; Mrs. Ora Smalley, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Houghton;  
Esther Kloos of Lake Odessa; Mrs. Madoline Doolittle of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. 
Ernest Merritt of Saranac, Mrs. Mary Foley of Wayland, Mrs. Edward Brown of 
Muir, Mrs. Lottie Rader and Mrs. Mildred Knauss of Portland; Mrs. Jennie Ulery, 
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bursley, Gloria and Allen of Vermontville; Mr. and Mrs. 
William Frost, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Seabolt, jr., Mr. and Mrs. George Morgan and 
Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Muskegon; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Seymore and Delbert 
Bartlett of Grand Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Deemer of Southfield, Mr. and Mrs. 
Gene Wilbur of Oxford, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bartlett of Detroit and Glen Bartlett 
of Taylor.

Others attended from Sunfield, Lake Odessa, Muir, Lyons, Saranac, Fenwick, 
Lowell, Grand Rapids and New York.
