Funeral service for Mrs. Bert Houghton, 65, of 6290 south State road who died
Monday forenoon at Ionia County memorial hospital, will be conducted Thursday at
2 p.m. at Boynton funeral home.  Officiating will be the Rev. Roy Houghton of
Lake Odessa.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Houghton was regent of Stevens Thomson Mason
chapter of Daughters of American Revolution and had been an active member in the
organization.

She was born July 9, 1899 in New York, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wells
Butler, and had resided in Ionia since her marriage July 1, 1919 to Bert Houghton.

Surviving are her husband, and several nieces and nephews.  Burial will be at
Balcom cemetery.  Contributions for a memorial for crippled children’s fund will
be accepted at the funeral home.
