Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 2 Feb 1944

The body of Pfc. Kenneth Houserman, 23-year-old son of Herman Houserman, Boston
Township, and a soldier in the army of the United States who was killed in an
accident during target practice while on maneuvers at Ft. Rosecrans, Calif.,
will arrive in Grand Rapids Friday evening accompanied by military escort, and
will be taken to the Morris funeral home in Saranac.  Funeral rites will be held
Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Morris funeral home and burial will be in
Saranac cemetery.
