The Portland Observer, Wednesday, January 31, 1906
Archibald Houston, who was a member of Co. D, 9th Mich. Inf., died at his home 
in Hubbardston last Wednesday from a stroke of paralysis suffered a week 
previous.  He attended the regimental reunion here last September.  He was 78 
years of age, and is the first to die of twenty out of a bunch of 23 of Co. D. 
veterans who served all through the Civil war.
