Ionia Sentinel Standard, 27 Oct 1972

Services were Thursday at 1 p.m. from the LeValley United Methodist church for
Russell E. Howard who died Saturday.  The Rev. Donald R. Fry officiated he was
assisted by the Rev. Ralph D. Harper, a cousin.  Organist was Mrs. Frank Stout.
 Interment was in Balcom cemetery and bearers were Robert Slater, Jack Reimer,
Dail Phillips, Leonard Hanline, Howard Sprague and Melvin Larson.

Attending in groups were the county committee, the district director and
executives from other counties of ASCS.  Coaches and junior varsity football
team, Scoutmasters and Troop 85 formed an honor guard and attended the funeral
home in a group.  Following the grave side services a luncheon was prepared and
served by the women of LeValley Methodist church at the Howard home.
