Excerpts from Obituary
BUD HOWARD of Sheridan
Died Friday May 5, 2017-age 84.
Born October 26, 1932, son of Mervyn and Beulah (Tallman) Howard.
Graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing in 1950 as State Champion Back 
Stroke Swimmer, receiving a scholarship to Michigan State University.
Graduated MSU in 1955 & married Joan Burns June 11, 1955. 
Became a pilot in Training at Spence Air Force Base in Moutrie, GA.
June 1956 son, Mark was born. Virginia & Russell completed their family.
Spent 10 years in service, then back to MSU for 30 years coaching swimming & 
teaching advanced Biology.
Was active in all social activities. Member of American Legion Post #182 in 
Hubbardston for 19 years.
In Lansing Sports Hall of Fame & Eastern High School Hall of Fame.
Sang in the Choirs in Gr. Ledge, Hubbardston, Carson City & Montcalm College.
Preceded in death by parents, brother & sister, Gloria.
Survived by wife, Joanne, three children, seven Grandchildren, two great-
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11 a.m at St. John The Baptist 
Catholic Church, Hubbardston with Fr. Tom Thompson officiating.
Memorial contributions to St. John the Baptist Church, H.A.H.S., or the American
