Belding Banner – Wednesday, 28 February 1917
George Howard was born in the town of Franson, county Norfolk, England, the 
27th of March, 1830 and came to the United States about 1840.  Mr. Howard 
served through the Civil War in the second Michigan Cavalry and after the war  
married Sarah A. Homer, August 12, 1865. There were born to this union, a son, 
Archie of Belding, and a daughter Jennie, wife of Richard Flinn, of Hinton; a 
sister and five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of friends 
are left to mourn their loss.  Mr. Howard  died at the home of his daughter, 
February 19, 1917, at the age of eighty-six years eleven months and twenty two 
days.

kindness and assistance in our recent bereavement, the death of our father, 
George W. Howard.
