Ionia County News, 6 May 1948

Mrs. Gertrude Peck Howard sister of Harry Peck, passed away at her home in
Washington, D.C., April 27th, after a prolonged illness.  She was born in
Hubbardston and lived here until her marriage in 1899 to Burton J. Howard of
Ionia.  After her marriage she lived in Ann Arbor where Mr. Howard attended
school.  She has one daughter, Bertha, who lives in Baltimore, Maryland.

They moved to Washington, D.C. in 1903 and she lived the rest of her life there.
 She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, B.J. Howard and daughter Bertha,
one sister Iva who has made her home with her the past 25? years, two brothers,
Ira of Lansing and Harry of Hubbardston and a host of friends in this vicinity
that was always glad to see her on her return trips, and her Washington home
door was always open to all happened to come along.
