He had been a blacksmith for over fifty years. He was born May 18, 1871, in Courtland, N.Y. He was a resident of Sheridan and vicinity from a small boy until 1908 when he moved to Palo. He married Effie D. Greenhoe in 1892. She died in 1941. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. Surviving him are two sons, Robert D. and Harold. Z. of Palo; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert of Auburn, N.Y., and Fred of Pitcher, N.Y. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan. The Rev. Lewis Herrick will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
