He was 47 years old, a native of New York, and was sentenced from Genesee county, Dec. 29, 1876, to 4 years and 9 months at Jackson prison. At the expiration of his sentence he was transferred to the insane asylum at Kalamazoo, and on the opening day of the Michigan Asylum for Dangerous and Criminal Insane, Sept. 7, 1885, was among the first lot of patients brought to the institution for treatment.
