The Ionia Sentinel, Saturday, December 3, 1870

Sudden Death.—Rev. R. D. Howe, of Orleans, an old resident and a man well 
advanced in years, died very suddenly on Tuesday last.  He went down cellar to 
sort over some apples, and while there his wife heard him groan, and going 
down, found him dead.
