He was born April 4, 1894 in Evergreen township, Montcalm county and had been a resident of Palo for the past 40 years. A World War I veteran, Howe was employed as a welder at the Ionia Manufacturing Co. where he had worked for more than 35 years. He was married to Vesta Campbell in 1921. Surviving are his wife Vesta, two sons, Robert C. Jr. of Lansing; Gordon K. of Palo; five grandchildren and one brother, Harold Howe of Palo. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan with the Rev. Lewis Herrick officiating. Interment will be in Palo cemetery.
