Howe, 70 of Fenwick, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 1996 at Kelsey Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1926 in Palo to Robert and Vesta (Campbell) Howe. He married Ardith (Wright) on Aug. 23, 1952 in Ionia. Survivors include his daughters Kandi (Pat) Kelli of Ionia; April (Pete) Conway of Fenwick; Cindy (Gene) Wireman of Belding; and Carol Howe (Rob Carman) of Palo; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardith Howe, of July 6, 1987; and his brother, Robert Howe, in 1986. Mr. Howe has been a lifelong resident of Palo. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He is a member of the VFW Post No. 5065 of Sheridan and also the Masonic Lodge. At the family’s request no visitation will be held. In accordance with Mr. Howe’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post No. 5065 of Sheridan. Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1996 at the Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home at Sheridan. Rev. Kenneth Harger will officiate. Final interment of the cremains will be in the Palo Cemetery.
