Howe, 55, of route 2, Belding, was dead on arrival at Belding Community hospital Sunday. He had suffered a fatal heart attack. Born December 18, 1918, in Orleans township he was the son of Fred and Maud Howe. February 22, 1941, he was married at Greenville to Nylah Jones. He was a veteran of World War II and was a tool and die maker at the General Motors Corporation plant 1, Grand Rapids. Surviving are the wife, Nylah, a daughter, Mrs Barbara Stull of Rockford; two sons, James of Columbiana, Ohio, and Jeffery at home; seven grandchildren, mother, Mrs. Maud Howe of Belding; sister, Mrs Alice McKendry of route 3. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Huffman funeral home at Belding. Rev Kenneth Harger will officiate and interment will be at Orleans cemetery. Visitation hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 pm. Bearers will be Howard Olsen, Merl Almy, Ben Crawford, John Hopkins, Paul Pelon and Jerry Gallagher."
