Robert Howe died at his home in Orleans, Ionia county, January 2, at the age of 71 years. He was born at Murray, Orleans county, N.Y. He came to Michigan in 1849. In 1850 he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Collins of Orleans. Their union was blessed with four children, three of whom survive him. She died in 1856. He was married to Lucinda Hale of Orleans in 1860. Of the eight children that came to gladden their home seven are still living. He was converted under the labors of Rev. C.H. Sage twenty-nine years ago, and has lived a christian life ever since, dying in the triumphs of a living faith. While we know he cannot come to us, we know we can go to him by following his christian example. The funeral was held at the U.B. church in Orleans, Sunday January 6, conducted by Rev. McKibby.
