He was just past 22 years of age and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Howe of Collins, where he was born. Last week The Observer mentioned that an operation had been performed upon the young man in the hope that it might be of benefit and prolong life. But disease had too strong a hold upon him and could not be dislodged. Deceased was a young man of good habits and well liked by his friends and companions. Funeral services were conducted from Mr. Kennedy’s home Sunday, Rev. Carlisle officiating, assisted by Rev. Stewart. The funeral was to have been held Friday but was put over until Sunday in order that the young man’s father could reach Portland from Minnesota, where he had been at work.
