The Ionia Standard, Friday, May 31, 1889

The funeral of the late Royal Howell, an old resident of Easton, was held at 
the Church of Christ in this city, Sunday afternoon.  Mr. Howell was born in 
Seneca county, N.Y., in 1811, and came to Ionia county in 1834, settling in 
Ronald township where he resided until 1866, when he removed to Easton.  He 
was the second supervisor of the township of Ronald.
