George Carter. Mrs. Howorth, who was the widow of the late John Howorth, veteran of the Civil war, was a life long resident of Palo and vicinity and had been in very poor health for many years, suffering several strokes of paralysis. For the past four years, she has been cared for at the home of Mrs. Peterman in Crystal; where she passed away at the age of 77 years. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and also the order of the Rebekahs. She leaves one son, Vernon Howorth, two grandsons and one granddaughter to mourn her loss. She was laid to rest in the Palo cemetery beside her husband who passed away several years ago. Additional Comments: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Towner, of Grand Ledge, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller and Hugh Howorth and two sons of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Will Miller, of Ionia, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Miller, of Grand Rapids, Eva Mulholland of Carson City and Mr. and Mrs. Case DeYoung of Crystal, were here Sunday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Emma Howorth.
