This community was saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Alice Howorth, widow 
of the late Vern Howorth.  Funeral services are being held at Palo Monday, May 
12th.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Howorth, who died Friday, May 9, at the State 
Hospital at Traverse City where she had been a patient for the past year, was 
held from the Baptist church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Peter 
Bissett.  Mrs. Howorth was widely known as she was born in Ronald township, the 
daughter of Frank and Sophronia Hull; dying at the age of 72 years.  Two sons, 
one daughter and one brother, besides several grandchildren and distant 
relatives survive.  Burial was made in the Woodard Lake cemetery.
