Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Edith Hoy, 82, of Ionia, passed away Aug. 31, 2002 in Ionia.  She was born Oct. 
17, 1919 in Fenwick, the daughter of Ernest and Lottie (Hendricks) Thomas.  She 
married Glenn S. Hoy Aug. 16, 1943 in Ionia, who preceded  her in death in 
November 1982.  Edith enjoyed Bingo, card parties, country music, making quilts 
and collecting recipes.  She worked at AC Spark Plug and Ionia Manor.

She is survived by her children; Peggy (Harry) Lehman of Ionia, Betty (Jack) 
Harter of Ionia, Robert (Bonnie) Hoy of Fenwick, Kenneth Hoy of Ionia and David 
Hoy of Saranac; sister Lora Ritz of Lansing; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-
grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and four great-great 
grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.  

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.   Interment Sunny Hill Cemetery, 
Palo.  Visitations will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.  Anyone wishing may make a memorial 
contribution to Family Choice.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
