Main St., at 1:40 Tuesday morning, October 17, after a three weeks illness of flu and pneumonia. Mr. Hoyt was brought home from the hospital on Monday afternoon and was thought to be recovering, when he became worse in the night and death came suddenly. Mr. Hoyt was born in Saginaw county, July 16, 1878, and moved to Belding when he was about 18 years old. He was married December 23, 1903, to Miss Rena Norton of Belding. With the exception of six years spent in Richmond, Virginia, they lived in Belding until 1935. At that time they came to Ionia and bought a store on W. Main street, which they operated for seven years. Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt sold their store to W. B. Conner and since that time he had been employed by the Ypsilanti-Reed Company. Surviving besides Mrs. Hoyt, is a daughter, Miss Norma, at home. Funeral service will be from Fitz-John Funeral Home in Belding, Thursday afternoon, with burial in River Ridge cemetery.
