Mrs. Hester (Merritt) Hoyt, 70, of Riverside, Calif., died Thursday morning, 
May 31 at Riverside hospital, after a short illness.

She was born November 10, 1885 in Easton township, Ionia county, the daughter 
of Fred and Adele Kitson.  The family had lived in Ionia, Lowell and Grand 
Rapids, prior to moving to California several years ago.  Mrs. Hoyt was an 
active life member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are her husband, Merritt, Riverside, Calif., and one son, Fred, of 
New York City.

Funeral arrangements will be in care of Phelps funeral chapel, Ionia.  
Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.  Time and date of services have not 
been announced.

Subsequent Publication:  Saturday, June 2, 1956

Funeral services for Mrs. Hester (Merritt) Hoyt, 70, who died Thursday morning 
at Riverside, Calif., will be held at the Phelps funeral chapel, Monday 
morning, June 4, at 11 o’clock with the Rev. Heath Goodwin officiating.  
Interment will be in the family lot at Oakhill cemetery.
