Hozeski was called to his heavenly reward and rest on Aug. 16, 2015. Ken was born on May 1, 1938, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His parents were Gerard and Dorothy (Plastchore) Hozeski. He lived his married life in Wyoming, Grandville, Canadian Lakes, and Ionia, Michigan. He is survived by his wife and best friend (Gloria (Obiedzinski) who he married on Aug. 13, 1960. He and Gloria celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year. His children are June & Doug Kuiper, Anita & Bruce Scott, Randal & Sandra Hozeski, Kevin & Karen Hozeski, and Angela and Allan VanEss. Grandchildren are Tom (Heather) & Brittinea Emperor, Megan Barker, Staci & Matt Kuiper, Jacob, Lianna, & Ian Scott, Kalina, Connor, & Kendra Hozeski, Elise, Grant & Erika Hozeski, Ali (Steven) Luke, Jake, Kate, & Lily VanEss and Joey. Great grandchildren are Kourtnee and Lance Doty. Ken graduated from Catholic Central High School and Aquinas College with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in engineering. He worked at American Sating Co. and then joined the staff at Steelcase where he retired in 1992 as a Product Engineering Manager at the context plant. Ken and fellow employees obtained many patents for Steelcase. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Father Fierle Council #944, a longtime member of the American Philatelic Society as stamps were one of his passions. After retirement he founded K. Hozeski & Associates and attended many stamp shows in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. He was the treasurer of Boy Scout Troop #3391 in Grandville for many years. He was instrumental in the formation of the St. Pius X golf league being the president and secretary in the formative years. He was a member of the St. Pius X Education Board and he was also a past board member of the Canadian Lakes Property Owners Corporation, where he helped form policy for the betterment of the community. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, reading, traveling and living life to the fullest. His faith, family, and friends (especially Dave & Clarice Kozak, Jim & Barb VanSolkema, AI & Cookie Karrip, Jim & Linda Bulkowski, John & Bobbie Hickey and the Canterbury Estates Bingo group, were the core of his life. We will miss his wisdom, courage, and smile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SS Peter & Paul Capital Campaign Fund, or Hospice of Michigan. A rosary and visitation (with memories) will be on Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia led by Fr. Tom Boufford. Rosary 5:30 p.m. Visitation 6-8 p.m., with sharing of memories at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at SS Peter & Paul Church on Friday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. with Fr.
