Peg was born November 27, 1929 in Ionia the daughter of Frank and Emma (Endres) O'Mara. She graduated from Lake Odessa High School with the Class of 1947 and went on to attend County Normal.Peg married Kenneth Hubbard August 20, 1949 at St.Edwards Catholic Church in Lake Odessa.He preceded her in death February 4, 2017. Together they raised five children. Surviving are her children; Gary (Brenda) Hubbard of Saranac, Judy (Joe) Stuck of Saranac, Marilyn (Ross) Walhout of Grand Haven, John (Cathy) Hubbard of Jenison, and Diane (Scott) Boeskool of Belmont,15 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. Brother Eugene O'Mara of Ionia, Sister Rosemary Hickey of Lake Odessa and Sister-in-law, Ruth O'Mara. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Peg enjoyed traveling with her husband to Hawaii, Spain, Greece, Austria,Paris, Czechoslovakia, Alaska and also spent many Winters at Gulf Shores, Alabama. She worked as a teach for many years at Saranac Public Schools. Peg also taught 4-H sewing. She was an incredible seamstress and also enjoyed golfing, reading, cooking, baking, shopping and had a soft spot for fireball whiskey. She along with her husband Ken were founding members of St.Anthony's Catholic Church in Saranac. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday 9th, 11:00 a.m. at SS.Peter and Paul Catholic church with father Tom Brown presiding. Visitation will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Wednesday 4-7 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m.. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Kindred Hospice.
