Hubbell, aged 83, of Belding, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2002, at United Memorial Health Center in Greenville. He was born March 9, 1919 in Traverse City, the son of Ray and Ida Moulder Hubbell. Ray was a veteran of WWII, during the war he was transported to Europe on the Queen Mary. Ray was a member of Sand Lake VFW and the American Legion in Belding. Ray was married on July 28, 1956 in Ypsilanti to Frances McDonald. He is survived by his wife, their children, Ellen Thom of Wisconsin, Darlene and John Barless of Gun Lake, Cheryl and William Green of California, and Richard and Sue Hubbell of Traverse City, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Farrell of Kingsley, a niece and nephew, Michele and Joe Sladek; one great-niece and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy; and a son, Douglas Blanchard. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery with Deacon Howard Scheid officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. The family is being served by the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding.
