Hubbell died at his farm home in the township of Orleans, May 7, of apoplexy. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Orleans, May 9 and he was buried at River Ridge cemetery at Belding. The services were conducted by the Rev. Edrie Collins of Belding. Mr. Hubbell would have been 79 years of age on June 9 of this year. He was born at Burlington Flats, Otsego county, New York, June 9, 1834 and was married at his birthplace May 23, 1859 to Miss Eliza Brown. Two sons were born of this union, of whom one died at the age of 17 months and L. L. Hubbell who resides at Belding. A. G. Hubbell and wife moved to this state in 1869 and purchased their farm in the township of Orleans where he and his wife have ever since resided. The farm was practically a forest then and has been cleared and improved by his hands. His life was one of activity until of recent year when old age caused him to cease working his farm although he has always enjoyed good health, until March 26 last when he suffered a slight stroke of apoplexy which affected his speech, only, and did not prevent him from attending to his usual light duties, but on May 6 he suffered a second stroke which resulted in his death. His two brothers who resided in the state of New York have passed on before and he leaves only his faithful wife and son of his immediate family. A man of strict honesty and integrity he believed in doing unto others as he would have others do unto him. That he had a host of friends was evidenced by the large attendance at his funeral. Card of Thanks: We wish to thank all of our friends and neighbors for their sympathy and timely assistance rendered to us during the last sickness and funeral of our beloved husband and father.
