Oct. 27, 2017 OPAL HUBBLE, 93 Opal M. Hubble, 93, of Saranac, passed away on Oct. 25, 2017. She was born on March 12, 1924 in Clay County, IND., the daughter of Roy and Mamie (Nelson) Brown. Opal married Harold Hubble on Oct. 9, 1948, in Indiana. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1994. Opal was a member of Saranac Community Church, and donated her time to the Saranac Public Library and Red Cross Blood Drives. Family was everything to her and she loved hosting family events. She loved to quilt and made many quilts for the Dolly Parton Imagination library, and each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were recipients of one of her hand sewn, hand quilted master pieces. Opal is survived by her children, Scott,(Marsha) Hubble of Ionia, Bruce (Valerie) Hubble of Saranac, Nancy (Keith) Houston of Saranac, step-son James Day of Kennewick, Wash; grandchildren, Nicki (Brian) Powell fo Saranac, Andrea (Ed) Conway of San Antonio, Texas, Rebecca (Arleigh) Sterzick of Saranac, Jamie (Eric) Vroman of Saranac, Brent (Jamie Lynn) Hubble of Ada, Matt Houston of Saranac, Jeff Houston of Saranac, great-grandchildren, Jonah, Elijah, Breanna, Sam, Gabby, Hudson, Peyton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Roy Brown Jr; and sister, Doris Bryant. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. at Saranac Community Church with Pastor Becky Poor officiating. Interment Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Saranac Community church Food Pantry in lieu of flowers. The family would like to thank faith Hospice, Green Acres and the staff at Blodgett Hospital for their wonderful care.
