Hastings Reminder, 2007

Rick A. Huckaba, age 55, of Lake Odessa, passed away peacefully at his home on 
Thursday morning, March 29, 2007.  Rick was born in Tacoma, WA on June 16, 
1951, and was united in marriage to Ruth A. Nielsen on February 18, 1984.

Rick had loved his job as a truck driver for Ken Coryell Trucking in Ionia, and 
took great pride in his work.  He also enjoyed camping, watching wrestling with 
his son-in-law, a good mug of coffee, playing cards, and dancing – even square 
dancing.  Rick loved his family and worked as hard as he could to provide for 
them.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children: Gerry (Janelle) Huckaba, Erin 
(Mike) Anderson, Heather (Russ) Fruchey, Jason (Sheri) Ackerson and Larry Ivy; 
grandchildren: Casey, Dakota, Brontae, Corrina, Haley, and Chelsea; sisters: 
Eillene (Lynn) Pennington and Trina (Dave) Hoppe; his brothers-in-law and 
sister-in-law, John Nielsen, and Jean (Larry) White; and many nieces and 
nephews.  Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald “Jim” and Georgia 
“Boots” Huckaba; and daughter, Kristin Armstrong.

The funeral service was held at the Koops Funeral Chapel on Monday, April 2.  
Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the 
Huckaba family.
