He was retired in May, 1965 as a corrections officer at Michigan Reformatory after 27 years of service. Mr. Hudson was a member of Ionia lodge 36 F&AM and Order of Eastern Star. He as a veteran of World War I and a member and past commander of the American Legion. Born April 2, 1895 in St. Johns he was the son of William Gordon and Katherine Allen Hudson. After attending St. Johns public schools, he later moved to Cadillac. March 20, 1935, he was married to Virginia L. McKinnon at Johannasburg, and had lived the past 28 years in Ionia. Survivors include his wife Virginia, two sons, William J. Hudson and Jack N. Hudson of Ionia, one daughter, Mrs. Vada Reed of Benton Harbor, six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Ellis of Royal Oak. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Myers funeral home. The Rev. Ray R. Fassett of Zion Evangelical United Brethren church will officiate and interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
