George H. Hudson, of Portland, age 102, passed away on Thursday, September 3,
2009.  He was born on Jan. 4, 1907 in Danby Township the son of John and Libbie
(Reeder) Hudson.  George was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Portland
for nearly 70 years.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during
WW II in the Philippines and a member of the American Legion in Portland.  He
enjoyed watching sports.

Surviving are his children Norman (Bonnie) Patrick of Tazewell, Tenn., Gerald
(Lorraine) Patrick of Manistee and Doral (Chuck) Schneider of Rockford; 9
grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and niece Carolyn (Clare) Cross of
Portland.  George was preceded in death by his first wife, Lettie Hudson; second
wife, Beatrice Hudson and his sister, Muriel Smith.

The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Daniel L. Stemen and Rev. James
Thompson at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at Church of the Nazarene, 9465
Cutler Rd., Portland.  Interment will be in Chippewa Lake Cemetery.  The family
will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009 at the church.  Memorial
contributions may be made to Church of the Nazarene in memory of George.  The
family is being served by Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland.
