Jack H. Hudson passed away on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 in Colton, Calif., where
he had been transferred following a stroke.  He had recently moved to California
from Calumet where his daughter Jennifer Moore lives, to be near his son and
family.  He was born on July 5, 1940 in Gaylord, Mich. to John L. and Virginia
(McKinnon) Hudson.  He moved to Ionia as a child and graduated from Ionia High
School in 1959, entering the US Navy where he served honorably for 31 years,
both 23 years active duty and in the Reserves.  Jack was married to Helene
Glasson in May 1965 and they had two daughters, Dorothy (Kenneth) Hardee and
Debi (Craig) Givens.  He then married Susan (Ross) Hudson in October 1973 and
they had two children, Christopher (Heather) Hudson and Jennifer Moore.  Jack
served as a prison guard at the state prison in Jackson, Mich. upon his
retirement from the Navy in 1988.  Jack will be missed for his witty sense of
humor and willingness to help anyone in need.

Jack is survived by his children, a brother William (Judy) and sister Veda
(Larry) Reed, grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased
by his parents and grandparents.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service
will be held by the Copper Country Veterans Association at a later date.
