Ionia Sentinel Standard, 3 Jul 1958

Mrs. Alsa J. Hudson, 74, a native of Danby township who lived on a farm there 
for many years, died at her home in Portland Tuesday.

Surviving are her husband, John; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Muriel) Smith of 
Portland; two sons, George Hudson and Carl Smith of Portland; seven 
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Clarence Peabody of 
Portland and Charles Peabody of Lansing.

Funeral service was held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Neller funeral home in 
Portland, with the Rev. Gordon Blakeslee of the Free Methodist church 
officiating.  Interment was at Danby cemetery.

Bearers were Ray Doolittle, Earl Teachout, Ray Pardee, Richard Selden, Sam 
Davids and Harmon Pendergrass.
