Ionia Sentinel Standard - January 19, 1956

                             SILAS HUESTED

Silas Huested, 76, died Thursday morning at 3:30 at his home in Muir following a 
lengthy illness.

He was born in New York state, October 2, 1879 and moved with his family to Muir 
at the age of four where he ha since resided. He was a retired mail carrier and 
a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.

December 4. 1902 he was married to the former Pearl Hooper who survives him.

Also surviving are two sons, Leon Huested of Muir and Raymond C. Huested of 
Lansing; one brother, Walter Huested of Muir; two sisters, Mrs.George D.Bauer of 
Grand Rapids and Jennie Huested of Palo and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Shaw-Rivett 
Funeral Home in Muir with Rev. Lewis Herrick of the Muir Presbyterian church 
officiating

Interment wil be in Muir Cemetery.
