Bert L. Huested, aged 83, of Ionia passed away Jan. 16, 2015.  He was born May
26, 1931, in Ionia Twp., the son of Leon and Neva (Priest) Huested.  Bert served
in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War.  He was a member of the
Ionia Moose Lodge, Lyons VFW, Saranac American Legion and the Teamsters.

Bert is survived by his sister, Janice (Phil) Keefer of Lyons; grandchildren
Amanda (Nicholas) Cole; great grandchildren, Landyn, Mason and Addyson; nieces
and nephews Philip (Teresa) Keefer, Joanne Murphy, Jeffery (Sandy) Keefer,
Kimberly Keefer, Kelsey Murphy, Kasen Murphy and Kyler Brown; and his extended
family, Dal (Randy) Barnes, Doug (Deb) Hotchkiss, Jordan Holcomb, Cassie Slocum,
Dave (Katie) Holcomb, Jacqlyn, Stacia, David III, Rod & Pam Knepper, Cristian,
Alexa, Alissa, Elijah and Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, son Gregory Huested
stepson Gary Houghland, longtime partner Pauline “Tillie” Knepper, and extended
family Brooke and Audi Slocum.

A celebration of his life will be scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, 2 p.m. at the
Ionia Moose Lodge.  Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Ionia
Hospice or Ionia Moose Lodge.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.
