Mr.Huffman was born June 21, 1910 and he was married to Beulah Judson at Levering,July 25, 1928. He servfed in Japan in World War II and after the war re-enlisted and had served in Korea about three yeas for a total of ten years in the service of his country and was making the U.S. Army his career. During his ten years of service, Huffman had been awarded the following decorations; OCC Ribbon (Japan); Philippine Liberty Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Asiatic Pacific Camp Ribbon; WW II Victory Medal; Asiatic Theater Service Ribbon. Good Conduct Medal 14, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star. A-1c Huffman had been ill about four and one half months and was removed from Korea by plane to Walter Reed hospital in Washington,D.C. and then was bring transferred to Veteran's hospital at Dearborn when his illness became so critical that the plane was grounded at Scott Field, Ill, where he passed away. He is survived by his wife Beulah and one son Wallace of this city; his mother, Mrs.Florine Haladay and his step-father Sid Haladay and two brothers,William Halladay all of this city and Joseph Haladay of Hessell; four sisters,Mrs.Lucile Gurenback of Bay City; Mrs. Mildred McMillan of this city, Mrs.Iola Edgett of Essexville, Mrs.Lavina LaRose of Gulliver and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Levering Methodist church. The body will arrive in Grand Rapid Thursday morning where Ellis Funeral directors will meet the remains and funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the Ellis Funeral Home.
