March 18, 2016 PATRICK JAMES HUGENROTH June 11, 1943-March 16, 2016 Patrick James Hugenroth of Belding, Michigan, lost a very hard fight this last Wednesday. He loved mechanical things, and had a lifelong passion for fixing, tinkering, and understanding what made them tick. A gift and accomplished raconteur, he would claim this was only the second fight he had ever lost, the first being to a left handed man who got taller with each telling. He was always quick with a laugh, an endless supply of self-deprecating jokes and gentle ribbing. His passion for never letting what actually happened ruin a good story will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, and we will honor his legacy by continuing to exaggerate his true as well as his fictional exploits just a bit more each time we retell them. He proudly served in U.S.A.F. in Vietnam. He never told these stories. Preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Nola and Frank Adams; brother Norbert Hugenroth; and grandson Rocco Hines. Survived by his sister and brother-n-law Bonnie and Jim Ashbaugh; wife, Wendy Hugenroth; children,Deb Hugenroth, Crista and Scotty Hines, Adam Hugenroth and Grace Pollert, James Hugenroth and Rachel Eernisse; and grandchildren McKenna, Donovan, Dominick, Dilyn, Josephine, Christopher, Jason, Adrea, and Jessica; sister-in-law, Joan and Mikde Sletz; and many nieces and nephews. Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at Belding Bible Church located at 416 S. Bridge St., in Belding. Light luncheon to follow. In Lieu of flowers, which Patrick thought were silly, please donate in his name to Rocco's heart Foundation, an HLHS Foundation, started in honor of his grandson Rocco (http://roccosheart.org) or a charity of your choice.
