Ionia Sentinel Standard - June 14, 2011


Lucy Hughes, 77, passed away on June 11, 2011. She was a Travel Agent, 
Secretary and a well-known Swimming Instructor. 

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ray A. Hughes. They were married on 
Sept. 22, 1959 in Chicago and moved to Ionia in 1969. She was active in Red 
Hats, the Ionia Community Theater and Ionia Library where she served on the 
Board of Directors.

Surviving are her husband, Ray A. Hughes; children, Eric (Christy) Hughes of 
East Grand Rapids and Stacia Hughes of Greenville; along with six grandchildren.

A celebration of Her Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 11 
a.m. on June 18, 2011. Arrangements by Lake funeral Home in Ionia.
