The Ionia County News, Thursday, March 24, 1938
Thomas C. Hughes, 87, died at his home at Woods Corners about 4:30 o’clock 
Wednesday morning.  He was born in Pittsburgh and came to Michigan several 
years ago.

He leaves six children, Daniel Hughes of Oakland county, Mrs. Margaret Hiliker 
of Orleans, Mrs. Mary Kinney of Detroit, Joseph F. Hughes of Ypsilanti, John 
E. Hughes of Detroit, and Mrs. L. Green of Waltz; two brothers and two sisters 
in Pittsburgh.

The funeral will be Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Joseph church in 
Ypsilanti where the body will be taken today.
