Portland Observer, 30 Mar 1939

Death came Sunday evening to a well-known Sebewa township lady, Mrs. Fredreka 
Huizenga, 72, who succumbed at her home after a prolonged illness.  Services 
were held Wednesday afternoon at the Christian Reformed church in Sebewa, with 
the Rev. L. Van Haitsma officiating.  Burial was in Portland cemetery.

Mrs. Huizenga moved to Sebewa township with her husband, Luurt, and family many 
years ago.  They came from Holland, Michigan.  Mr. Huizenga died in 1930.

Included among the survivors is one daughter, Grace, who lives at home; and 
five sons, Bert of Grand Rapids, John, Fred, and Thomas of Sebewa, and 
Cornelius of Portland.  There is one brother, Ben VanDam of Edmore.
