Mrs. Hull was one of the real pioneers and saw this country develop from its primitive state into its present condition. Hers was a life of helpfulness and even though her death comes at the end of a long period of life and is what one might call a timely death, her many friends will regret to hear of her passing. Diana M. Ingalls was born in the town of West Almond, Allegany Co, New York, June 5, 1843, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Northway, Saturday evening at 10 o’clock, August 20, 1927, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 15 days. She came to Michigan with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Ingalls at the age of 10 years. She was married to Amasa L. Hull, January 1, 1856. To this union was born two children, Mrs. Julia Northway, of Smyrna, and Edwin Hull, of Greenville. She united with the church at the age of 16 years. She taught school in Smyrna and Cook’s Corners and the near neighborhood, only a few of her pupils being left. Mr. Hull passed away February 22, 1920 after which Mrs. Hull went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Northway. She leaves to mourn their loss the daughter and son, one brother, Frank Ingalls, 5 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren, besides a host of friends. She was a member of the Belding Relief Corps. She was a patient sufferer during the five weeks she was confined to her bed and always had a kind word for all who came to see her. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter with Rev. H.S. Ellis officiating and burial was by the side of her husband in Smyrna cemetery. The services were attended by a large concourse of friends who attended to pay their last mark of respect and honor to one of the grandest and most noble characters ever to reside in Otisco township.
