He came to Michigan with his parents, Roland and Elvira Hull in 1845 and settled on a farm in Keene township where he lived until January 1, 1853, when he was married to Miss Diana Ingalls. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Julia Northway, of Smyrna and Edmund Hull, of Greenville, both of whom were with him at the last and did what they could for his comfort. With the exception of one year, Mr. Hull has always lived within driving distance of Smyrna. That year he was with Co. H. 10th Mich. Cav. fighting for the Union. Aside from this year Mr. and Mrs. Hull have never been separated but a few days at a time. At the age of 17 he was baptized and united with the M.E. church and has always been a faithful and devoted member. Besides the wife and two children there are five grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren to mourn the loss of a good husband, father and neighbor.
