The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, February 24, 1940

Funeral services were held Thursday in the Sunfield United Brethren church for 
George Hummel, 71, who died Monday evening at his home on the Dr. Peacock 
farm, a half mile north of Sunfield in Sebewa.  

Surviving are two sons, Guy and Vern, of Sebewa; one daughter, Mrs. Harry 
Hooker, of Lansing; four brothers, Charles and Jerry of Sebewa, Marion of 
Vermontville, and Thomas, of Wise; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Franks of Sunfield 
and Mrs. Ed. Jackson, of Lansing.  Edward Jackson, the brother-in-law, died 
Wednesday, and was buried Friday from his home in Lansing.  

Services for Mr. Hummel were conducted by Rev. Dawson, and burial was at the 
Baptist cemetery beside his wife, who died several years ago.
